HIPPA compliance for physicians using social media isn't always easy.

Hyper awareness of what is happening across social media is a concern for all physicians, especially ones that own their own practices. While many physicians are currently taking the wait and see approach to social media, instances like this one provide a reminder that a more direct approach is more appropriate.

Any employee, whether it be a physician, nurse, office manager, or assistant can make a mistake and break HIPPA complaince through social media. It's the responsibility of the practice and the physicians to provide the staff with guidelines that clearly outline what is and is not appropriate.

HCP Buzz has developed Social Media Guidelines based on recommendations from the AMA, CDC and other leading medical authorities. Please reach out to us via email, phone, fax, or ANY MEANS!
